Like most women I am always up for trying a new beauty treatment, and there are a few that I’ve been dying to try for a while. A Glytone chemical peel was at the very top of my list. I have fair and dry skin, that’s prone to freckles and ever since having my girls I’ve been noticing that after a short but direct sun exposure (even with SPF 50 on) I am getting little dark spots. Ahh! So I’ve been looking into different peel options for a while now. Something in office, that would be mild enough to not put me completely out of commission, but still deliver visible results.
BEFORE & AFTER – GLYTONE CHEMICAL PEEL
When I came upon Glytone’s numerous peel options I knew there would be something perfect for me. The brand takes into a consideration your age, skin type, specific concern like premature aging, acne or in my case pigmentation, and recommends the appropriate treatment, which is administered at a doctor’s office. I went with the Jessner peel for my first application. This was mild enough to test out how my skin would react to it and perfect for any skin type. The esthetician recommended this during our consultation, so I knew I was in good hands.
She then started the process, with first cleansing my skin. Then applying the peel, while carefully monitoring it. I would tell her on a scale of 1 to 10, what level of tingle I was feeling, and when it started to feel more intense she would remove the peel. Honestly, the whole process was so quick and simple I was pleasantly surprised. It felt a lot like a facial, with moisturizer being thoroughly applied at the end. My skin right after was not red, nor even pink at all. Just felt super hydrated. In fact, I went to a work meeting right after and just threw a little lip gloss on.
There is usually some peeling involved the week following the procedure but not in all cases. In my case, I actually saw no peeling at all. Not sure if it’s because I was extremely diligent with applying the provided post treatment cream. Of course depending on the level of the peel you choose you will also have more or less peeling.
It has now been about two weeks since my Glytone chemical peel treatment. My skin feels very radiant and bright. I have to say, I was a bit nervous about the recovery process and now, after seeing how easy it was, I will be doing a peel monthly. I think I’ll kick it up a notch a bit for the next one and let you guys know how the recovery goes! I do love a good ‘before’ and ‘after’!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
