3 Valentines are better than one! Even when it’s 80% total chaos and craziness. Those other 20% always seem to weigh way more.
Every time we try to take family photos, at the end Eric and I turn to each other (sweating) and say in agreement “Never again!” But sure enough, I dragged everyone to Le Marais Bakery last weekend because 1) I just love their brunch so damn much and 2) Mama bear blogger wanted to attempt this whole family photo thing again.
And what do you know? We actually ended up having a great time! Ok ok, it may have started with some tears from miss Grace, who was upset about her sister’s upcoming bday and worried she would get ALL the presents and not share. After talking through that drama while sipping my matcha latte, their bacon showed up and magically made everything better.
Savage Charles, elbow deep in every little bowl on her board was in heaven. Smoked salmon as far as the eye could see is her happy place.
My dad snapped pictures of us after scarfing down his ham croque monsieur (yes, I made sure to feed the photographer too!) as we tickled the girls and made silly faces. Charlie yelled “twinkle twinkle” across the entire restaurant as Grace asked us to make our best silly faces. It was hectic and fun and everything I wished for.
I scrolled through the photos late that night in bed, with Eric sitting next to me. We kept saying to each other as I clicked through “can you believe we made them?” “Man, we are so damn lucky!” I also told Eric, now that we had one fun family shoot he is in for it, to which he rolled his eyes and pretended to take a shot of red wine straight out of the bottle. God, I love this crazy little family of ours. I don’t know how I got this lucky, having 3 Valentines to love.
