I’m a pastels and frills kind of a girl! I loooooove me some Valentine’s Day style. Full of tulle, over the top pink and red hue combinations and embellished EVERYTHING. I am very much not “too cool for Valentine’s Day”.
As I browsed the web for style inspiration to share with you guys for one of my favorite fashion holidays, I couldn’t help but wonder: “But what about the cool girl?” You know who you are. Too cool for blush, would never wear pink for Valentine’s Day and don’t even try talking you into tulle. I hear ya and I’m with ya! ….at least on this one post. (give a girl a break! I’ve got blush sparkle on the brain at all times!)
When I think of ‘the cool girls’, in my mind they are always New Yorkers, and thus wearing pretty much all black. It’s an NYC thing. So, I had to bring some darkness to these looks. This Foxiedox dress was a ‘yes’ for me right away (it also comes in a mini!) I actually wore it to a little getaway date night in Napa Eric and I had recently and felt so glam all night. Red and black is one of my favortie color combinations. It just immediately screams “Put on some red lipstick, we’re going somewhere fabulous!”
The second look. Oh, how I love this Halebob top (also comes as a beaded dress). This is my “cool girl goes to the office and pretends she won’t care if there is not a big bouquet of red roses waiting on her desk” look. I so remember those days, before being married and casually rolling into work, feeling 100% anxious and excited on Valentine’s Day. Cut to now and my hubby always gets me a gift even after we shake on a promise that this year he better not get me anything.
This burnout top is fully lined with the coziest cotton inside, and I could seriously live it in forever. It’s like an undercover lazy gal outfit that fronts like it’s really making you…make an effort. So a long day at the office in this on V-Day is a match.
