Tis the season…..for lots of holiday parties and standing in front of your closet with that “I have nothing to wear” dilemma. Let’s face it, not all holiday parties are created equal and what’s appropriate for a chic night time cocktail party might not be the same look you would wear to your office party.
So, I wanted to put together two looks to give you some style inspo for day to night holiday style, and I found both at Stage.
First up, the office party. Though I’ve been lucky enough to work in a very easy going/anything goes work environment most of my adult life, I’ve heard enough ‘bad office party’ stories to know better than to think you can wear anything you want to your office party. My rule for office party entire is, don’t wear anything you wouldn’t want your grandma to see you in. Then add a little sparkle. I chose this sequin poncho pant combo because it is age appropriate for literally anyone, yet has a fashion forward edge. You can also wear a jumpsuit with this poncho over it, or just a jumpsuit on its own, which always makes for a great classic fashion statement.
Look two for your night time holiday events is simple. When in doubt, go for the little black dress! This sequin number was a no brainer for me (and also comes in curvy sizes) and it is both chic and comfortable aka I can sit back and people watch past 9pm. Party animal alert! The holidays are my favorite time of the year in big part because of all the dress up opportunities, and the hardest part is always narrowing down all the sparkly options! These two are definitely a big ‘yes’ for my upcoming events.
