If I had to describe my personal style in one sentence, it would be: feminine and classic with an ‘extra’ twist. I would describe Julia Engel’s (of Gal Meets Glam) style as very similar and that’s partly why I have felt such a strong connection to her and her own style journey ever since first starting to follow her blog over 6 years ago.
This weekend marks the one-year anniversary of her Gal Meets Glam collection! How time flies when you’re having fun playing dress up! I remember setting my alarm last year on launch day and snagging this dress before the sun came up. So exciting to see it back this April and in a new color option! (you know I need this blush!) It’s so inspiring to see that a year later the collection has seen such evolution and growth. Julia and her team have been so cognizant of really taking the time to listen and respond to what their customer loves and wants. From a size range that goes from 00 to 20, to going beyond dresses and adding jumpsuits and cardigans to the line, all while never straying away from the gal they are catering to. A girl who appreciates quality (and a good bow detail) and wants a dress she can have in her closet for years, knowing that it will always be a staple.

I brought this chic jumpsuit to style during our trip to Maui last week and it could not have been more perfect. I wore it twice in 6 days and then couldn’t waist to style again in a new way when we got home. That’s what makes a piece a true stand out to me. If it has the ability to translate across different seasons, travel destinations and well, time. I loved adding a dimension by pairing it with this oversized button-down blouse, and as I was heading out the door to shoot, Grace asked me “mama, can you get this in my size?” Stay tuned Gracie, you never know what Julia might have up her sleeve for anniversary number two!
