For some reason Father’s Day is a holiday that always tends to sneak up on me. Maybe because we have a whole lot of May birthdays in our family, and between those and Mother’s Day, poor Eric tends to get a last-minute rushed gift most years. Well this year, one of my resolutions was to get better with shopping for gifts ahead of time across the board, so I have implemented a little hack, putting a calendar reminder exactly one month prior to every special occasion for my family and friends, and thus far it’s worked wonders! And with the extra dedicated time to really ponder what would make a truly special gift, I have been able to look back on the more than 15 years that we have been together and think on what gifts have been the most special to both of us.
