One Dress – Two Ways

When I first saw this amazing scuba dress from Romwe my first thought was, “Ah I love that full skirt bottom!” and “Ooh it’s so very backless. Is it realistic for a ‘regular’ person to wear?” Let’s face it, as women we are always torn between the fantasy and the reality of fashion. If it was completely up to me, I would dress like Carrie Bradshaw every day, strutting into Starbucks in a tulle skirt and have a closet full of sequin gowns. But the reality is, we often have very few ‘special occasions’ and many more semi formal ones. This is why I wanted to do this One Dress/Two Ways post.

In my real life, aka when I am not shooting a blog post, my style is very preppy and ‘proper’. So this first uber feminine look very much reflects how I would style this dress in my every day life. I am all about layering and found that this backless dress yields itself very well to the layer style, giving it just a bit of a girly touch. I would also pair this with a thin sweater, which I love to do with midi dresses.

And as for the second look, I mean the dress really speaks for itself. Add some hot contrasting accessories and let that backless beauty shine. I love pairing pink and black together. It automatically turn up the chic and cool factor and is the easiest way to bring a day look to night out on the town.
