I have been wanting to do a décor update in Charlie’s room for a while now and this whimsical boho vibe felt so right for her personality! She’s not your typical pink loving gal, so I wanted to make sure to pick a color scheme which would truly reflect her personality.
This wallpaper was just right, and served as a mood board for the rest of the room. Since the space is very small, we decided to only cover two walls, leaving the others bright white, to keep the airy feel. I also switched out the drapes which used to be there to these woven wood blinds, which ended up being my favorite design element in the room. I spent hours searching for the right company to go with, and what made my decision so easy in the end was receiving four free samples from Select Blinds. I could not imagine spending hundreds of dollars only to find that the finish of the shades looked different in real life than in the photo or the quality being different from what I thought. So a pro tip for you, always get samples when it comes to those types of décor elements, and I do highly recommend using Select Blinds after my own experience.
The other piece which I thought really tied the room together was this jute rug from Paynes Gray. It had the perfect boho feel I was searching for, and is very durable for this rough 5 year old. I also wanted to add a personal touch to the room and worked with My Little Treasure Co, a small business operated by a fellow mama, to create this amazing custom wooden letter C with felt flowers. We DMd back and forth endlessly to find the perfect hues to match the wallpaper and I love how much it stands out in the room. My Little Treasure Co also made the adorable glitter bow Charlie has in her hair here.
One last thing to mention, a simple hack I use in every room to give inexpensive furniture a designer feel. Switching out your knobs! So simple, anyone can do it and makes all the difference. I was very excited to find these knobs from Signature Hardware and used them for both the dresser and the little corner desk, to add continuity to the décor. Both the dresser and the table were inexpensive but feel so much more chic with this little update.
I have more thing in this room to tackle, and that’s reorganizing and updating Charlie’s closet, so I’ll be sharing that ‘before’ and ‘after’ soon! For now, here are some of the organizational tools I ordered.

Onto the next room and I couldn’t be more excited, because it’s going to be our master bedroom that gets a major facelift! I’m working on the mood board and it’s going to be a mix of bright white and neutral with touches of gold. Can’t wait to start sharing, as we get started! It will be a much needed distraction during this time, and I’m looking forward to sharing lots of DIY ways you can update your own space as well.
