Some days I wake up and can’t remember a time when I wasn’t a mother. Others, I look at my now two daughters and almost gasp in disbelief. How is it possible that I have two kids?! I still feel like a kid myself! But it is these quiet moments, when Charlotte grabs my fingers with her little hands and holds on tight, that wash every thought away, until all that’s left is love and happiness. All that’s left is feeling like I am the luckiest person in the world.
When I was pregnant with Charlotte (our second daughter who is now 9 weeks old), we didn’t find out the sex, and up until the delivery everyone and their mother were telling me that I was apparently having a boy. Strangers in parking lots were grabbing my belly and telling me this ‘fact’! So when my little peanut came out to greet us and my hubby with his voice shaking with tears and surprise yelled “It’s a girl!” I was more than shocked. And ever since then I feel like I have doubled up on everything girly. We are officially a house full of estrogen and I wouldn’t have it any other way. So when I saw these pieces from The Silver Loft, how could I not fall in love?
I have been wanting something very dainty and memorable to be able to wear every day and remind me of my beautiful girls. How perfect are these rings, which show their initials – Grace and Charlotte. I love wearing them together on one finger, and thinking about the girls growing up to be best friends.
And these bracelets spoke to me right away too. They have the girl’s birthdays inscribed in roman numerals. I love that because it is not obvious what it is at first glance, and has been a conversation started every time I wear them. All of these piece have become so special to me and I laugh to myself when thinking that in a few short years the girls will be stealing these and playing dress us with them. Grace already does that with all of my jewelry and she is only two and a half! I guess that’s going to be the norm at the estrogen house!
