Our recent trip to Toronto initially started as a partly work trip for me, to attend a movie screening and Q&A for “Where’d You Go Bernadette” (highly recommend!!) and quickly turned into a personal challenge to see as much of Toronto as possible in 48 hours! Here is my quick Blogger’s Guide to Toronto, blogger style! ….aka if it’s not grammable, I’m not interested haha.

We got a chance to stay at the absolutely dreamy Four Seasons Hotel, Toronto. I joked to Eric that if I could have designed a hotel, this would be it! Gorgeous florals at every turn, a fashion exhibition of nearby high-end shops. If you have a chance during your trip, I recommend at least stopping by for a drink at the bar. It will give you the full vibe of the property without breaking the bank.

Café Cancan– if you have a love for pretty tea cups, pastels and pink doors, put this at the top of your Toronto list! The food was very good, which is always a relief at a grammable place like this, because you worry the hype is only the picturesque setting. It is quaint, the staff is the sweetest and there are little hidden surprises like a little ‘ring for champagne’ bell inside the lone booth in the back and a treasure of a back patio with some airy seating.

Oretta– Eric found this restaurant on Instagram and I had to make it our first stop! Can you say Instagold?! The huge airy space had impeccable art deco details and the most chic, yet laid back crowd. The food was excellent, down to their gluten free pizza option which made my night!

CN Tower– This is a VERY tourist heavy place (of course), think Times Square in NYC. To me that’s typically a major strike, as Eric and I try to stay away from any tourist traps when we travel. I do however recommend coming to CN Tower for lunch. It will give you a much better experience of the view as well as a fun dining experience. The food was great, and the revolving restaurant (72 minutes to go full circle) is definitely a special touch of the overall experience!

Buca – we had dinner here on our last night in Toronto and after patiently waiting the 40 minutes for a table (we didn’t have a reservation) it was absolutely worth the wait! By far the best meal of the trip as well as the best cocktails. The atmosphere is very moody and lively, a great late dinner option!

Sorelle and Co.– you guys, I truly died and went to Gluten free café heaven when I entered Sorelle! Just a block away from our hotel, and a true gem of Toronto! You HAVE to make it a stop if you are into a girly café with pretty desserts. It is fully gluten free, but don’t let that deter you (though for me and my gluten allergy it was a dream!) Eric got an avocado toast and salad and loved it! The space is very small, only a handful of tables, which were all full for tea service and good-sized parties, so I recommend trying to make a reservation.

Planta – this all plant-based restaurant was a surprise pick by Eric (best surprise ever!!) and absolutely blew me and him away. While I am mostly plant based, Eric loves his meat and exclaimed multiple times how amazing the food was. The drinks here were so amazing as well, as yummy as they were pretty.

I covered this little slice of heaven extensively on my IG stories as well as in this blog post. Another Eric find (he gets ALL the credit this trip!) and totally worth our early morning trek there to capture some photos. Bare in mind, this isn’t really a beach, where you can expect to spend the day soaking in the sun or swimming. Think of it more as almost an art installation of large metal pink umbrellas on a small pier, on a side of a small park. A great stop for some photo ops but keep it quick!
