packing for europe

My mother-in-law surprised our whole family with a Disney cruise to Europe as our Christmas present, and at last the long wait is over, because tonight we will be starting our two week adventure! First flying to Barcelona for three days of exploring, then getting on the ship and making 5 different stops, before ending in Rome for another three days. Last time Eric and I were in Rome, we were in our mid twenties, pre kiddos and very much naive about how special a trip like this really is. Now, over six years and not much sleep later, we are going back and will be taking in each little detail, beautiful sight, amazing meal, and hopefully getting one night to get lost together somewhere, just us two.

But first, I wanted to share a bit of what I am packing and some items I can’t travel without.

Before I started blogging, I don’t think I knew what a hat box was, let alone owned one, and now this item has become an absolute travel necessity! My massive large brim hat collection might also have something to do with this. Thanks a lot Blair Eadie! I recently picked up this colorful favorite, and here are some other ones I’m crushing on.

I also want to mention a few travel essentials that I can’t live without. Starting with one that I just realized I’ve been using for over 20 years! It’s Secret Deodorant, and I quite literally don’t leave home without it. It’s been a life saver for the long working mama days and all the travel we have been doing this year. With a busy schedule like mine, I use Secret Clinical Strength Invisible Solid just once for all-day strong wetness protection. You can find it at your local Walmart, or shop online HERE.

A have also recently discovered some great travel organization helpers, which has been a game changer for me and a big time saver. The first is this make-up travel case, which I saw Amber Fillerup feature on her instagram, and had to have! And then there are these packing cubes (which I had to have in blush of course) that make a world of difference if you are packing for multiple people in the same suitcase. I also try to separate different types of clothes like dressy, casual, pajamas, etc which makes it really easy to maneuver all the stuff doing the trip.

One // Two // Three

Last but not least, wanted to share a few favorite finds I got for the girls to wear on our cruise. Two of everything sure adds up quick, but I just couldn’t resist these cute pieces!

Can’t wait to share all of our adventures with you in the coming weeks! For now though, wish me luck with the longest flight the girls have ever been on! Fingers crossed for lots of sleep for both of them.
