There’s something about summer that always makes me crave color a little more deeply. Maybe it’s the way sunlight transforms even the simplest outfit, or how travel awakens a more playful side of personal style. This season, I’ve found myself leaning into saturated jewelry, glossy bangles, vibrant beads, and pieces that feel expressive rather than overly polished. That’s exactly what drew me to the new Julie Vos Amalfi Coast collection. These pieces capture something I think many of us want from summer style right now: ease, personality, and color that feels joyful instead of intimidating. The bold necklaces, resin bangles, and vibrant beads instantly transformed even the simplest dresses into something that felt styled and memorable. It reminded me that jewelry doesn’t always have to be the “finishing touch”, sometimes it is the outfit.

Why color feels so right for Summer: When most people think about refreshing their wardrobe for a new season, they immediately think clothing. But honestly, I think jewelry is one of the easiest and most transformative places to start.
A colorful necklace can completely change the mood of a simple slip dress. A stack of bangles suddenly makes an old linen dress feel fresh again. Even unexpected color pairings – powder blue with cherry red, citrus tones with watery turquoise, soft pink with cobalt – bring personality and energy to pieces you already own.
What I especially loved while styling these looks was that nothing felt overly coordinated or too “perfect.” The combinations worked because they embraced contrast and playfulness. I think fashion is shifting away from ultra-minimal perfection and back toward pieces with personality again. Pieces that feel collected, expressive, and a little more personal. And honestly, summer is the perfect excuse to lean into that mindset.

Eric and I shot these photos while sailing through the Caribbean aboard Seabourn Cruises, and I genuinely can’t imagine a more beautiful setting for this collection. We loved slowly catching golden hour light against the pale blue ocean and really taking the time to feel the soft warm sea breeze. I’ve been in some wild, VERY cold places, while shooting spring and summer collections, so being able to genuinly embody the FEEL if this collection during the shoot really did make me fall in love with the pieces that much more. It’s like they carried that special energy with them when they came home with me.
There’s also something about being at sea that changes the way I approached to getting dressed. Fashion feels less rushed there. You have time to enjoy the ritual again. Of slowly layering, choosing statement pieces, simply because they make you happy.
That’s ultimately what I loved most about this shoot and this collection. It wasn’t about dressing perfectly. It was about slowing down, embracing color, personality, and those small joyful moments that make summer style feel special in the first place.

And honestly, that’s what I loved most about this collection. The pieces feel joyful without trying too hard, colorful, expressive, and made for those sun-soaked summer moments when getting dressed becomes part of the experience itself. The Amalfi Coast collection felt like the perfect reminder that sometimes the smallest additions can completely transform the mood of an outfit.
