Grace and I are so excited to share her blush and gold bedroom décor reveal today! We both agreed that it would be a joint process and we would share our ideas 50/50. It ended up being more like 60/40 after I had to nix a dark blue accent wall she asked for on the side of the room (I mean you can’t blame for for that can ya?) but overall we had a blast scrolling through websites and flipping through magazines together. She can do that stuff for hours!! Takes after her mama I guess.
The first thing we agreed on to really bring the blush and gold decor together was the wallpaper, which ended up really being the main design feature of the room. To be honest I have had my heart set on this gorgeous Jolie print from Anewall for over a year, so I was holding my breath while showing it to G saying with hope in my voice, “well what do you think?” She did her favorite joke, “I don’t like it mom……(wait for the shocked mom face)…I LOVE IT!!!” Whew! Jolie it is! From there it was a breeze.
We sipped our kombuchas and scrolled through the Desenio site to pick out prints for G’s gallery wall. We bugged Eric together to get her TV down from the wall so we could measure and order the goodies. We flipped through HDTV magazine to look for light fixture ideas to replace the crazy ‘Beetlejuice’ looking one I randomly bought some years ago. Eric has still not let me live it down (not my best décor choice, I’ll admit!) The chandelier we settled on is so perfect for the room. Grace loved that it reminded her of fairies, and I loved how delicate it was, and of course that it was the perfect golden hue.
We did a few small changes like adding gold knobs to her existing dresser to give it a refresh. Getting some throw pillows to add dimension and pops of blush around the room. She had some favorite lovies that fit right in with the new decor, like these puppies from Cuddle + Kind I got last year. (this brand gives 10 meals for every item sold so please give them a look over!) I love her Lily Pulitzer table lamp, so we just switched out the shade to white to keep with the neutral look, leaving the wallpaper as the only print in the room. That shade is now in Charlie’s room, where it’s all about color!
There are still a few things we want to add, like little shelves for her reading corner (her idea) and a fuzzy stool instead of a desk chair. Also all G, and “will add more personality to the room mom!” As we search for that, I’m going to get cracking on Charlie’s room next, where the theme is Arizona Boho! Bring on the cacti vibes!!
