Shop the Look
It’s right about now, in this “in-between” time of August, when the weather convinces us that summer will be endless—with long evening light, late afternoon pool sessions, and leisurely bedtime routines—while social media platforms and retailers urge us to step into fall. I find myself feeling a sort of nostalgia during these weeks, simultaneously wanting to slow time down to savor these summer days and feeling excited and inspired by the approach of a new season, with all the fresh, invigorating energy it brings, especially in terms of style. It’s like turning a page in an unpublished magazine and realizing you get to fill all the blank pages with your ideas.
But for now, with the reality of 80-degree days and warm evenings likely to stretch into early October, these are the pieces I think we can embrace—pumpkin spice latte in hand or not. This collared dress has been a tried-and-true staple for me all summer, and I truly can’t recommend it enough. It has great stretch, doesn’t wrinkle, and is the perfect easy, grab-and-go piece. I swear this print makes me smile whenever I catch a glimpse of myself in it. (If you love this print too, check out more style options in the same motif and different fabrics HERE.)
Another combination that could be in heavy rotation for late summer and resort wear includes these wide-leg pants (also very light and stretchy!) paired with this knit tank. Fun and bright, it feels like you’re wearing chic pajamas. Lastly, a dress I’ll be styling right into fall is this eyelet midi—such a perfect neutral for a hot day or for layering when the temperatures drop in the fall.
I’ve rounded up more endless summer favorites from Lilly Pulitzer for you below. Cheers to the resort queen herself, who truly believed that an endless summer is not weather but a state of mind.
A big thanks to Lilly Pulitzer for partnering on this post.
