Back to School Style with Stage and No Kid Hungry

As my girls get older, one of my top priorities is that they learn to give back and truly understand the meaning of empathy, that they grow up wanting to make a difference and understand how lucky they are to never know what hunger feels like. I am still shocked at the realization that 1 in 6 kids in America go hungry every year. As a mother, that is truly unfathomable to me.

That’s why this post is so important and dear to my heart. Stage is using this back to school season to help make real change. They have been my destination for everything from Mother’s Day and Father’s Day gifts, to pretty dresses for my girls, so to learn that they will be donating 50% of retail proceeds of each food themed back to school item, like this lunch bag, to No Kids Hungry, was absolutely thrilling! I was excited to tell Grace that taking cute photos in her pretty floral dress would not just be for fun, but for an amazing cause.

And speaking of pretty dresses, the back to school style options at Stage are vast on the site, and super affordable. Charlie, who had been a total tom boy all last year, has suddenly become my girly girl and wants to change 3 times a day. So, getting her multiple options is a necessity these days. (especially because most clothes only survive a few hours before I need to throw them in the wash!) I loved this pastel dress so much and also got this sweet one.

Grace is a picky one these days and insists on helping to pick out every item we buy. She loved sitting down with me and scrolling though the Stage site, stopping at shoes with a happy squeal. These sandals were her favorite and we got Charlie a matching pair. Now they were ready to spread the word!

I urge you just like I urged my girls, to use your voice and your buying power to shop with companies like Stage, which stand behind a cause. Even if we make a small impact, to a hungry child, every meal counts. Let’s make sure we make that number I mentioned smaller and smaller with each day!
