One dress, two epic cities. I guess this magical dress just had to have extra moments, and in cities as breathtaking as Rome and Barcelona, well it was right at home. Morning light coupled with embroidery is always a good idea, and racing in a cab through the empty streets of these cities as the sun was rising made me feel as if I was in a movie. Full hair and make-up at 6am will do that to a girl. Really though, there is nothing more worth the early wake up call, than seeing structures like these during that quiet golden light and feeling like you’re the first one to discover them. To stand before the colosseum and pretend you are in 70 AD. That was a definite bucket list moment.
More embroidered favorites.
While I was all about Rome, Eric had La Sagrada Familia in Barcelona at the top of his list. As with the Colosseum, we first saw it with the whole fam……and about a million other tourists, in the middle of the day. So a second trip was a must. Discovering this little spot in a park with the unbelievable view of the temple was amazing. It gave us a whole other perspective of it, with the added beauty of a little lake and a few locals enjoying the view with their newspapers perched on the benches around us. I loved learning about the history of its creation, and about Gaudi’s life. We left there feeling inspired, and ready for a big breakfast!
