It’s true what they say, Paris makes you fall in love all over again. We were like two teenagers, roaming the city, taking in every romantic corner. No kids, no stress, and all the glamour I could handle.
When Eric walked out of the room in his tux (which was a surprise for me after I asked if he would like to take photos together, so we would actually have some of both of us!), I felt the same pang of emotion I did ten years ago when we had our first date, and sat outside in the San Francisco chill, talking for four hours. Neither one of us wanting the night to come to an end.
As parents, it is so hard to find the time (and let go of the guilt!) for just the two of us. I was feeling uneasy about taking this trip, and being so far away from our girls. But looking back now, with even only just two weeks of perspective, it is one of the best things we could do for our relationship. It made us remember to keep each other our top priority, to value those quality time moments together, and appreciate the amazing beautiful family we have created.
He is the best Valentine I could have ever wish for. After all, what girl doesn’t want her best friend, dressed in a tux, to hold her hand in Paris?
Happy Valentine’s Day!
