Vest Forever21 // Shirt J Crew // Bow ASOS // Jeans Zara // Bag Rebecca Minkoff // Cuff Hermes // Shoes Christian Louboutin //

One of my dear friends let me borrow her camera equipment to play around with some lenses and camera bodies. I am often unsatisfied with the photos I end up with for the blog, and have been on a search to improve them. I see people asking other bloggers on Instagram all the time “love your photos! What kind of camera/lens do you use?” Well I finally got my answer. If you, like me are looking to improve the sharpness, overall vibrance and the blurred background of your photos for your outfit posts, this is the combo you need: Camera – EOS 5D Mark II. Lens – Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 or 1.2 (if you have a bigger budget) Shooting in automatic ISO and 1.4 aperture. Now that we’ve got that tip out of the way, how awesome is this vest from Forever21? And it’s under $30! I have seen this trend starting to pop up and wanted to grab an inexpensive version because I have a feeling this won’t be a forever staple in my closet. But it is going to be perfect for this spring and summer! I’ve gathered up a few more options, which you can shop below.

Thanks for visiting, and have a great week!

What a great tip! I am now researching this lens so I can add it to my Canon. Did you use the f 1.4 or the 1.2? I love how these pictures came out, even though I always think your pictures look fantastic. 🙂

Thanks love!! I used a 1.4 for these (about $380). The 1.2 is way more expensive ($1,200ish) but I hear that’s the one to get if you want to super crisp image and the really blurred background. I haven’t tried that one yet. But what I noticed made the biggest difference was using the nicer camera body. I have your basic canon Rebel and these were taken with the Mark D, like I wrote. And that made the lens really come to life and take waaaaaay better pics. What body do you have? I guess now I have to upgrade haha. Let me know what you end up getting!
